Hi! My name is Megan Wood. I am a Textile and Fashion Designer who specializes in innovative and sustainable practices.I graduated with two degrees: a BS in Textile Technology and a BA in Art + Design from North Carolina State University. I'm equally passionate about both the design and technical aspects of my work, as I am not willing to sacrifice one for the other. Truly understanding the manufacturing complexities behind my chosen craft has allowed me to become a stronger and more well-rounded designer.
I am a maker and enjoy each step of the creative process. I love to tinker and take things apart. Being an only child for 11 years and living on a ranch in the Texas Hill Country, I utilized my imagination and ability to reverse engineer items to pass the time. That same love of making, working with my hands, and mechanical aptitude taught how to be resourceful and enabled me to do more with less as a US Marine.
These days, I enjoy applying those skills to my designs to creatively solve problems. Which are no longer problems, rather opportunities for improvement and motivation to design with purpose and for specific functions. When I am not creating, I enjoy playing soccer with my miniature Dachshund who despite her size is a killer goalie.
